Tam Vs The Nemesis - The Players...

Tam (that's me!) - I have been collecting and sewing vintage patterns for roughly five years now and adore the 40s style more than any other. The other thing you should know is I'm the worst procrastinator in the world. If there is something I'm not confident with I just move on to something else, leaving a trail of UFOs (Unfinished Objects) in my wake. This is how The Nemesis came into being...

The Nemesis - The Nemesis, aka Simplicity 3162, was a very early addition to my pattern collection. Each time I feel inspired to sew, I drag out a box and flick through my carefully ordered patterns. While my collection is sorted into era and garment type, my only other rule is by likeability - favourites to the front. The Nemesis resides in the first few patterns in the box labelled "1940s Dresses" and each time I look through this box it torments me. "'What about me?" it says, "I've been waiting such a long time. You even have the fabric!!" Yes, I've even had the perfect fabric to make it. As much as I adore this dress - it has so many beautiful design features - I usually flick on by and find a new ball of string to amuse myself. That was until recently...

I can't be certain what prompted the decision but just before Easter I decided it was time for The Nemesis and I to do battle...
